1.0 Your Privacy is important to us, our beliefs regarding user privacy and data protection

We will never ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
We don't share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, ship merchandise, develop our products, or protect our rights.
We don't store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services.
We aim to make it as simple as possible for you to control what is visible to the public, seen by search engines, kept private, and permanently deleted.
We will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute or make public your personal information, we hate spam as much as you do!

This site's compliance with the above legislation, which is stringent in nature, means that this site is likely compliant with the data protection and user privacy legislation set out by many other countries and territories as well. 3.0 Personal information we collect and why we collect it

This website collects and uses personal information for the following reasons:

3.1 Site visitation tracking

Like most website operators, we collect non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how our visitors use its website. From time to time, we may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website. This data is also used to identify any abuse of our server and services
We also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our forum and browsing our site. We only disclose logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that forum poster IP addresses are disclosed to the administrators of our forum.
Cookie's are string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. We use cookies to keep you logged into the forum, to tell if you're not logged into the forum in order to present paid advertising and to ensure that only you have access to your submission keys, statistics in information. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using our website, with the drawback that certain features of our website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Note Recent EU directives - we do not track cookies and their content is never logged.

3.2 Our Forum

This information is required in order to provide the services we offer you. Under no circumstances will we distribute this information to third party companies unless it is necessary for the operation of the club, or required to do so by law.

If you are under 16 years of age you MUST obtain parental consent before posting a comment on our forum.

NOTE: For security reasons we strongly recommend that you do not enter personally identifiable information to either a post, or alternatively your signature. Where found we will remove this information to ensure your privacy.

3.3 Contact forms and email links

When contacting the Ford Sierra Owners Club admin team through our contact us form, all data is transmitted directly to us through email and not stored online. We access these email using an encrypted connection to the server.

3.4 Email newsletter

For our newsletter, we operate a double opt in method. Upon entering your email address to sign up, we will automatically dispatch an email to which you must click on to receive our updates. The frequency of email newsletters currently is one email per 3 month period. You will always have the option to unsubscribe to these messages at the bottom of each email sent out.

If you are under 16 years of age you MUST obtain parental consent before joining our email newsletter.

4.0 website data and personal information

Our database is important, access for maintenance and for backup's are only directly accessible over a secure encrypted connections. This website hosting is currently being donated by Halls Online Services Ltd, within a UK data centre operated by Digital Ocean located in London, England. Access to the data centre is only granted to Digital Ocean staff, and Halls Online Services Ltd uses them as a Virtual Server Host.
Electronic access to the core web files and database is accessed only through a encrypted connection directly to the server.
Backup's of data are taken on a monthly basis, with a precautionary secondary backup being securely transmitted and encrypted onto a home NAS drive which is not accessible to anyone, each new monthly backup overwrites the previous.

5.0 Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

We may disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those administrators whom have access to details provided when accessing our website, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf or to provide services available through our website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those administrators, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using our website or purchasing items, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. We will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its administrators, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, we disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of the ford sierra club, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of our website and have supplied your email address, we may occasionally (rarely) send you an email to inform you if any changes to our service will severely impact your access to our site. We take all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorised access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

6.0 Data Breaches

We would report any unlawful data breach of this website's database or the database(s) to any and all relevant persons and authorities within 72 hours of the breach if it is apparent that personal data stored in an identifiable manner has been stolen.

7.0 Changes to our privacy policy

This privacy policy may change from time to time inline with legislation or industry developments. We will explicitly inform our members or forum users of these changes through a global announcement on the forum and we also recommend that you check this page occasionally for any policy changes.
